The second nuclear reactor at Cernavoda power plant was shut down again Tuesday night on minor malfunction during periodical tests, power station operator Nuclearelectrica said Wednesday.
Nuclearelectrica said the process caused no dangerous emissions for the plant’s personnel, for the population or for the environment and that the reactor will restart operations on Thursday.
The second nuclear reactor started functioning at full capacity early November subsequent to the 12-day final overhaul. It shut down automatically on November 7 due to a minor technical malfunction and restarted operations two days later.
