The police said investigations began one year ago, when the IT crimes division within the Romanian Police received a notice from the Interpol on the existence of four computer systems in Romania used for the production and distribution of child pornography over the internet.

Police officers monitored the systems and found that child pornography was distributed from Romania to 20 countries.

The investigation led to a jobless individual called N.V. aged 39, from Bucharest. He used his home computer to download and redistribute child pornography materials.
Investigators said the materials were not produced in Romania. They were downloaded by the suspect from various websites.

IT specialists and prosecutors searched the home of the defended, who, upon learning of the action deleted incriminating evidence. The investigators seized the computer and all storage devices.

A 29-day preventive arrest warrant was issued in the suspect’s name on charges of child pornography over computerized systems.
