As of Thursday, 8 April, in Romania, 993.613 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed.
890.528 patients have been declared cured.
Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 4.989 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) have been registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test. Apart from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 1.214 people were reconfirmed positive.
To date, 24.733 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
Between 07.04.2021 and 08.04.2021, 172 deaths (99 men and 73 women) were reported of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Bacău, Bistriţa-Năsăud, Bihor, Botoşani, Braşov, Brăila, Buzău, Călăraşi, Caraş-Severin, Cluj, Constanţa, Covasna, Dâmboviţa, Dolj, Galaţi, Giurgiu, Gorj, Harghita, Hunedoara, Ialomiţa, Iaşi, Maramureş, Mehedinţi, Mureş, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Sibiu, Suceava, Teleorman, Timiş, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vâlcea, Ilfov and Bucharest.
