The Art Museum requested the proceedings be suspended until the court gives a final and binding decision in the case.

A Bucharest court decided in April that Valentin Ceausescu, son of late communist dictator Nicolae Ceausescu, is to receive the personal belongings of his late brother Nicu.

The list included several valuable items, such as 15 paintings, three graphic works and nine objects made of porcelain and silver, all of which are in the care of the Art Museum.

In November last year, Valentin Ceausescu won another case to recover several items confiscated from Ceausescu’s estate after the Revolution of December 1989.

Ceausescu fell from power in a popular revolt in 1989. Both he and his wife, Elena, were executed.
