Romania’s BCR Installed ATMs In Main Subway Stations In Bucharest

Romania’s largest lender by assets Banca Comerciala Romana, or BCR, installed ATMs in the main subway stations in Bucharest, the bank said Monday.

The ATMs allow clients to withdraw cash, pay bills and bank loan installments, recharge pre-paid mobile phone cards and change their card personal identification numbers, the bank said.

The ATMs were installed in subway stations Gara de Nord 1, Piata Romana, Piaţa Unirii 1, Piata Victoriei 2, Stefan cel Mare, Piata Iancului, Piata Muncii, Grozavesti, Basarab, Dristor 1 and Armata Poporului.

BCR’s ATM network reached 1,650 units and the bank reached a market share of 25%. In Bucharest, the bank has a market share of 23%.

BCR, member of Austria’s Erste Group, has assets worth over EUR17.5 billion.
