Romanian Nat Pwr Holdings Setup Will Boost Energy Price – Survey
„The two companies will take advantage of their oligopoly and will quickly eliminate the rest of the small players activating on the Romanian energy market,” the survey reads.
Moreover, according to the survey, the energy sector will have no more resources to finance future investments and the two power holdings will register losses, while the energy supply in Romania will become uncertain, due to a wrong strategic orientation.
The Government decided to set up two national power holdings, respectively Electra and Hidroenergetica, that will include most of the state-owned energy and coal production assets.
The setup of Electra and Hidroenergetica has been delayed by at least six months from the initial deadline announced by authorities, respectively July 1.
The analysis was drawn by the University’s Energy Faculty and will be presented in a news conference Wednesday.
