Attending the Romanian-Chinese Economic and Commercial Forum, Boc said the funds would represent China’s financial assistance in the economic and technical areas.
Before signing the intergovernmental agreements, representatives of companies in both countries inked commercial contracts, by which products worth $70 million will be exported from Romania to China.
Boc added that Romania will try to identify, with the support of Chinese officials, new categories of commodities to be exported to China, and will continue to support the trade relations between the two countries through sectorial industrial partnerships.
China is Romania’s main commercial partner in Asia.
In 2008, trade between Romania and China totaled $3.8 billion, and it reached $1.7 billion, this year, until August 31.
The investments of the 9,500 Chinese companies in Romania totaled $330 million.
Boc also said he supports the collaboration between China and the European Union.
In his turn, Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping said the Beijing authorities would support Chinese companies to invest in Romania in the metallurgical and chemical industries, in the auto and aircraft manufacturing, furniture production and wine industry.
Jinping added the Chinese companies might alos look for several opportunities in several other sectors, such as tourism, research, infrastructure and constructions.
