Romania’s SMEs Guarantee Fund Mulls Granting RON1.8B Guarantees In 2010

In 2009, the fund gave guarantees worth RON1.642 million, more than double from a year before, for loans totaling RON3.473 billion.

End-2009, the balance of guarantees totaled RON1.629 billion, double on the year.

The guarantee fund, which is state-owned, was set up in 2001.

Last year, the fund reported revenues of RON153.8 million, double on the year. For 2010, it estimates RON142.9 million in revenues.

The fund’s profit stood at RON2.6 million in 2009, up 232.74% compared with a year earlier. For this year, the fund estimates RON2.151 million in profit.
