MEDIAFAX reported Monday the government significantly cut the income threshold for the heating bill support this winter at RON425 per family member, compared with RON615 in the previous years.

The decision to cut the income threshold was justified by the impossibility to support all social protection forms from the budget, given the financial crisis, which triggered the restriction of the number of beneficiaries.

Thus, the government said it needs to cut budget expenses to frame into the 2009 approved budget and next years’ projected budgets.
