Dacia Files Suit Against Scammers Over False Contest

Romanian carmaker Dacia, owned by France’s Renault, on Tuesday said will file legal action against several individuals who used the company name in a internet contest scam.

Dacia warns the public regarding a new swindle which involves a fake promotion, a contest that advertises the possibility to win Logan cars following a lots drawing.

“The amount asked from the so-called winners, who would be supposedly announced by SMS, is of EUR250 – EUR650,” the carmaker said in a statement.

Dacia said it has not organized such contest, nor does it intend to.
