Dacia Reports Best Sales in a Decade in 2018

Dacia sales on external markets grew 5.5% on the year in 2018, to over 646,000 vehicles.

Growth was fueled by the new Duster model, with sales exceeding Dacia's sales record for its previous model by 13,179 units. Most customers opted for accessorized versions and the 4x4 model accounted for 77% of total Duster sales.

The Logan model ended 2018 with 21,176 units sold in Romania, accounting for nearly 39% of Dacia's sales on the domestic market.

The Sandero model posted sales of 10,218 units in 2018, while Logan MCV sales reached 3,779, Dokker sales reached 2,227 units, and Lodgy sale reached 1,061 units.

Dacia sold a total of 700,798 vehicles in Romania and abroad in 2018, up 7% on the year. The company doubled its sales within seven years, exceeding the 350,000 unit mark in 2012, 400,000 in 2013, 500,000 in 2014, and 600,000 in 2017.

In Europe, Dacia sold over 511,000 vehicles in 2018, reaching a market share of 2.9%, up 0.27 percentage points compared with 2017.

It hit record sales in France, Italy, Spain, Poland and Belgium, and neared its 2009 sales record in Germany. Dacia also sold nearly 50,000 vehicles in Morocco in 2018.
