Romania Issues Thunderstorm, Gusty Wind Advisory For 16 Counties In S, SW, Central Regions

Romanian meteorologists issued a yellow code advisory Monday expecting heavy rain, thunderstorms and gusty wind in 16 counties in the southern, southwestern and central regions of the country.

The advisory is valid Monday evening through Tuesday evening.

Precipitation is expected to exceed 25 liters per square meter and even 60 liters per square meter in some areas in the south and south-west of the country.

The counties to be affected by the advisory are Arges, Brasov, Buzau, Caras-Severin, Covasna, Dambovita, Doj, Gorj, Hunedoara, Mehedinti, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Teleorman, Valcea and Vrancea.

Similar weather will occur throughout the rest of the country as well, especially in the central region of Transylvania and the Eastern Carpathians, but on smaller areas.
