People close to the matter told MEDIAFAX earlier Wednesday the Government plans to add 1.6 billion lei (EUR1=RON4.2950) to its reserve fund, which means it will have RON1.7 billion at its disposal in December including for arrear payments.

The draft budget revision also sets an increase of RON600 million for social aid.

Romania must pay arrears by end November in order for the IMF to release a new tranche of a EUR13 billion loan agreed last year.

Romania’s 2010 state budget was first revised in summer.
