The two telecom operators are working on a network-sharing partnership in Poland and are considering doing the same in other states, such as Austria, Romania or Slovakia, a France Telecom spokesperson said later, according to AFP.

Orange, one of France Telecom's brands, is the largest mobile telecommunications operator in Romania, by number of clients.

Deutsche Telekom owns 30% of Greek group OTE, which controls Romtelecom, Cosmote Romania and Germanos.

According to the latest reports, Orange Romania has almost 10.5 million clients. The second operator by number of users is Vodafone Romania, with around 9.8 million at the end of 2010. Cosmote Romania ranks third, with 6.8 million clients.
