The meeting took place at the government headquarters and was led by Prime Minister Emil Boc. It was attended by EC Regional General Department director Jean Marie Sayler and EC Regional Policy General Department representative in Romania Anastassios Bougas.
“Cohesion policy is important for Romania, but also for the European Union as a whole. We believe cohesion policy means solidarity, but also a general development factor. We believe this policy has a certain worth in the context of the financial crisis and the economic impact of the financial crisis, from the perspective of directing the policy to investments, in assets, but also in human resources and workforce,” the EC officials told the Romanian ministers.
They said the Government bears most of the responsibility in implementing this policy.
