The court also gave the secretariat’s former economic manager, Daniela Sbarcea, a suspended sentence of three years imprisonment.

As the sentence was passed, revolutionaries present in the room began to cheer.

In the trial’s previous session of June 4, the Anticorruption Department prosecutor asked the court to convict Emilian Cutean and Daniela Sbarcea, showing evidence they misappropriated around EUR85,500 from the Government budget. The prosecutor also showed that, during Cutean’s tenure as manager of the secretariat, payments were made to revolutionaries’ associations, without receipts or justification.
