Romanian Foreign Affairs Min Salutes Serb Pres Reelection

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs salutes the reelection of Boris Tadić as president of Serbia, for a new five-year mandate, pointing out that Romania has always been in favor of the pro-European forces in Belgrade.

The Ministry stated, un a press release, that "the electoral option of Serb citizens represents one step forward in Serbia’s European path and a boost towards a tighter relationship between this state and the European Union." The Ministry adds that Romania will continue "to support the materialization of Serbia’s legitimate aspirations to near the European Union, including thought actions for the signing and ratification of the Stabilization Agreement as soon as possible.”
 
The Ministry expresses confidence that Serbia will continue to act responsibly to meet the demands for advance towards a consolidated relationship with the EU, given the special role that this state has in the stabilization of the Western Balkans and in Europe, said the press release.
