Romania’s Lucian Bute KOs Brian Magee, Keeps IBF Title

Bute floored his Irish opponent four times, with a combination of body shots in his seventh successful defense of his belt.

Magee was battered by a left to the body in round six and then hit the canvas in round seven twice. The first one was ruled a low blow, even though replays clearly showed Bute hit Magee above the waist. The second knockdown in the seventh came in the final seconds, this one after a body punch to the stomach.

The bout was halted in round 10, when Bute delivered a left uppercut to the chin of Magee.

Bute said after the game he hopes to box in Romania this summer.
