Peter Fleet, regional director of European Sales Operations for Ford Europe, said Romanian automobile dealer Romcar SRL, official importer for Ford, would continue to sell Fords in Romania throughout the transition period, until August 2010.
Fleet also said Romcar has done its job successfully so far, adding, however, Ford’s plans on the Romanian market prompted the setting up of a National Sales Company, a move similar with the organization of Ford’s operations on other large European markets.
Ford Europe on Wednesday said Paul Flanagan was appointed general manager of the National Sales Company of Ford Romania, and will take office as of January 1, 2010. Also, Zoltan Brassai was appointed director of operations of the new sales company.
Flanagan used to coordinate sales operations of 188 dealers in Great Britain, while Brassai used to work as director of operations for Romania within the organization Ford EDM (European Direct Markets), headquartered in Koln, Germany.
