According to Gazda, if the ones who desire autonomy for the Szeckler County are more determined in this action, there are greater chances for the achievement of this goal.
Gazda said that the local organization of the Union supported the organizers of the rally saluting Kosovo’s self-stated independence, because the Union (UCM) feels and considers that the occurrences in Kosovo have a certain value.
"If a people desire sovereignty and they remain united, they have every chance to obtain it. It is also a message for the Magyar community. Naturally, we do not want to alter the borders, we do not want an independent state, we only want territorial autonomy without changes in the borders. Our battle is exclusively based on legal grounds, and we are observing the laws of the country," Gazda said.
He added that the next step towards autonomy for the Szeckler County is the valuation of the internal referendums organized by the National Szeckler Council in the counties Covasna, Harghita and Mures.
"We have a referendum, organized by the National Szeckler Council, and we have to make use of it. We will turn to European structures, as well as the structures in your country, and we hope that if we are more determined in our battle, on legal grounds, we will achieve our goal," Gazda concluded.
The National Szeckler Council will publish, Saturday, the final results of the internal referendums regarding autonomy for the Szeckler County.
The unofficial internal referendum, based on mobile urns, was organized throughout one year within the Szeckler seats in counties Covasna, Harghita and Mureş.
