Romania Files Legal Action Against EC Decision

The Romanian Government decided in the last meeting of 2007, to make use of its legitimate rights against the Commission’s decision to lower Romania’s pollutant emission ceiling by 20%. In such warrant, Romania filed, on December 21, 2007, two legal actions against the decisions of the Commission, MEDIAFAX learned from the chief of the Romanian Department for European Affairs, Adrian Ciocanea.
 
The European Commission lowered, in October, the annual levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) emission in the Romanian industry, for the period 2008 – 2012, by 20.7%, from 95.7 million tons, the quantity requested by the Romanian state for economic activities, to 75.9 million tons.
