The group trafficking high risk drugs was caught in February, following an operation called "Portugalia".
The police caught 13 Romanian citizens and an Italian citizen aged 19 to 35. The leaders of the group, two Romanians and the Italian, were arrested for supplying the group with drugs from Portugal.
The organized crime police department in Bihor county, and the prosecutors with the Department for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) found in Bors customs a package from Portugal containing 4.2 kilograms of hashish, five ecstasy pills and over 180 grams of cocaine, worth over EUR150,000.
Police investigations showed that among the dealers there were also drug users, members of a band playing in a club in Oradea.
DIICOT and the organized crime police department in Bihor will continue the investigations together with their colleagues in Portugal, to supervise the activity of the other drug dealers on Portuguese territory. If found guilty, the group members might face three to 25 years imprisonment, police said.
Prosecutors and police officers completed the investigations of the 14 group members, who were charged with drug trafficking, drug use and enabling drug use.
