"The National Liberal Party sees as undignified the statements made by PSD spokesman Cristian Diaconescu, regarding the so-called requests, by several European institution leaders, for the dismissal of foreign affairs minister Adrian Cioroianu," said a press release issued by PNL.

The liberals state that the president of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso, “promptly” denied, Monday, “the allegations of the PSD spokesman,” and that the spokesman of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), Urdur Gunnarsdottir, "harshly rejected," Diaconescu’s statements.

PNL asks PSD to dismiss Cristian Diaconescu "because a spokesman cannot tell such blatant lies, especially when the image of Romania and Romanian citizens is at stake."
