E-Manuals For Romanian Pupils In ’08

Romanian pupils will have, in 2008, manuals in electronic format as well, since Romanian president Traian Basescu signed, late 2007, the promulgation of the Law amending article 174 of the Teaching Law.

At the end of 2007, the Romanian Parliament decided to amend article 174 of the Teaching Law on manuals, a document approved by Basescu on December 20. The article mentioned that state schooling and manuals are free of charge.

The Parliament amendment mentions that, aside from traditional manuals, pupil will also have access to manuals in electronic format.

Mihaelei Suciu, personal adviser of the education minister, told MEDIAFAX that the 2008 budget contains RON25.7 million for manuals.
