"The European Commission has not taken any decision on the timing of the next progress report on the Mechanism for Cooperation and Verification,” Gray said.
He added a decision in this respect would not be made until the next expert mission report in Romania and Bulgaria at the end of this month.
"This situation was clearly explained during the most recent meetings with Romanian ministers,” Gray added.
Earlier Tuesday, Romania’s minister-delegate for the relation with Parliament, Victor Ponta, said the European Commission would release its report on Romania’s justice system in September, instead of July.
He added the Commission had not yet confirmed that date.
