Romania’s second-largest oil group Rompetrol, owned by Kazakhstan's KazMunayGaz, opened two gas stations Tuesday, one on each lane of the highway connecting capital city Bucharest to the southeastern town of Cernavoda, at kilometer 88+300, said the public roads authority CNADNR.

The gas stations also have stores, restaurants and provide car services.

End-August, at the opening of the first two gas stations on the highway, Rompetrol’s representatives said the company will complete by end-October another two units, in an investment estimated at around $6 million.

Out of the ten gas stations to be opened on the highway by oil companies Rompetrol, OMV and Petrom, the last two will own six. Two stations will function under the OMV brand, while the other four will use Petrom’s brand.

Six other gas stations have been put in function so far on the highway. The two new units are estimated to become functional by the end of the year.
