EC To Release Next Justice Report On Romania In Summer 2011

In its report, the Commission calls upon Romania to establish close and constructive cooperation between the different political and judicial actors and to strengthen the commitment of the judiciary to reform.

„To succeed in the reform process will require a sustained commitment by Romania, the Commission and other member states. The Commission will continue to support

Romania in this endeavor and provide its next assessment of progress in summer 2011,” the report states.

The report released Tuesday is the fourth EC report assessing Romania’s progress under the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM), imposed on the country upon EU accession in January 2007.
