Romanian Agr, Constructions Seen Vital For Econ Recovery

Speaking at a debate on the constructions sector, Geoana said the global recession could last between two and five years, but that Romania might overcome the downturn if it manages to capitalize its potentials.

 

He said Romania has the edge on other economies due to its solid banking system, its little dependency on exports and reduced private lending.  

 

On the other hand, Romania’s current account deficit is rather high, and this could negatively influence the economic recovery, Geoana said.
