Romanian Parliament Committees OK ’09 State Budget

The reunited committees for budget and finance approved Saturday the Romanian state budget for 2009, with eight cons, from the members of the opposition.

Prior to voting, the committees decided to increase the research budget with RON620 million, funds coming from the Ministry of Development and from non-reimbursable funding.
 
Thus, RON100 million will come from the Ministry of Development, RON200 million from the Ministry of Finance and RON320 million from non-reimbursable funding.
 
The MPs in the two committees approved, in principle, the increase by RON120 million of the sums granted to the Ministries of Education, Culture, Development and Transport, money taken from the National Development Fund -RON100 million , and the Government’s Reserve Fund – RON20 million.
 
This sum will be divided among the ministries Monday, when the report of the special committees will be submitted in the Standing Office
