Boagiu said the state will implement a set of measures to support railway companies facing debts.
The Government pledged during negotiations with the International Monetary Fund to implement measures to render the railway companies’ activity more effective by implementing a series of measures such as increasing train ticket prices and cutting staff spending.
Enel Romania general manager Luca d’Agnese said Thursday the debt owed by state-owned railway operator CFR to electricity distributor Enel stands at EUR187 million.
„One of the greatest challenges for Enel Romania is the debt owed by CFR, which now stands at EUR187 million and it keeps rising,” d’Agnese told a news conference.
Annually, the debt owed by CFR to Enel’s three local units grows by an average EUR30 million.
