Eighteen Rroma People Returned To Romania

Eighteen ethic Rroma people from Romania, who have so far lived in Geneva, Switzerland, were persuaded to leave Switzerland after the Red Cross offered them bus tickets to return to Romania.

These personae non-grata got on the bus filled up with bicycles and other cheap iron-made objects, smelling like meat and tzuica, and left for Aiud, Mures county, central Romania, Tribune de Geneve informed on its website.
Some may have taken this measure as an act of goodwill, others as expulsion.
"Genevans can now see to their Christmas shopping," said ironically Doris Leuenberger, founder of Mesemrom association protecting the rights of Rromas. She added the people left for fear of having their staying rights lifted.
