French Ubisoft Opens Second Unit In Romania

French video game producer, publisher and distributor Ubisoft opened its second creation studio in Romania, in the southern city of Craiova, whose main purpose is the development of new games.

The new studio employs 12 people who are involved in major projects.

Ubisoft’s first studio in Romania was opened 16 years ago in the capital city Bucharest.

In the last two years, the company opened another two units, in Sofia and Kiev, respectively.

Ubisoft has development teams in 27 countries and distributes videogames in 55 others.

In 2007, Ubisoft Romania reported 42.16 million lei (EUR1=RON3.6388) in turnover and RON1.56 million in net profit, according to the data published on the website of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

End-2007, the Romanian unit employed 445 people.

In the 2007-2008 fiscal year, Ubisoft reported sales of EUR928 million.
