Power output grew to 8.35 million tons of oil equivalent in the first four months of the year, while the country’s power resources reached 13.78 million toe in the same period, the institute said.
Thermal power output dropped 6.5% in Jan-Apr from the corresponding period a year ago. Hydropower output rose 25.1% in the first four months of 2008, compared with the corresponding period last year.
Electric power resources rose 10.7% on the year between January and April, at 23.23 billion KWh on power output increases, while electric power consumption rose 6% on the year to nearly 18.16 billion KWh in the same period.
Power exports rose by 871.2 million KWh in January-April, namely 69.5% compared with the year-earlier period.
