EU Experts Conclude Romania Can Meet Schengen Visa Standards – FM

The minister said EU experts completed the assessment of Romania’s consular offices in the Moldovan capital Chisinau and Istanbul, Turkey in view of assessing Romania’s accession to the Schengen area and assessment reports include positive conclusions for the country.

"Practically, EU experts checked whether the two offices meet conditions to grant visas stipulated for Romania’s accession to the Schengen area. As I was saying, their conclusion is that Romania can meet Schengen standards in terms of visas. Recommendations have also been made to adapt technical procedures to European norms and requirements, which we will do,” the minister said.
