The sums obtained from the sale of ANL homes to tenants will be used to build other homes to be rented out to youngsters, according to a government decision approved Wednesday.

The minister of development, public works and housing, Laszlo Borbely, said the sale conditions were set after consultations with the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEDB), which financed the building of ANL housing units.

The minister estimated the housing agency would get some EUR30-40million from the sale of 2,200 homes. The money is to be collected in a special account and will be used to build other such homes.

Borbely said 21,000 homes for youngsters have been built in the past seven years with funding from CEDB and the state budget.
