Ex Romanian Monarch Talks About Romania As A European Country
“I know there are still problems with the education and health sectors, and that people are not completely satisfied with their way of life. However, the economy is constantly growing, the political life is more dynamic and the country has, for the first time, representatives in the European Parliament,” the former sovereign said.
After the first year in the EU “people can tell the difference between prosperity and identity, freedom and duty, the observance of fundamental values,” Mihai I added.
The monarch said Romania needs solid institutions and a “European Constitution.”
“Romania will find its place within the international system if it knows how to observe democratic rules and cultivate its national spirit,” the monarch concluded.
