EXCLUSIVE: Romanian President Pushes For Technocrat PM

They said Prime Minister Emil Boc is to be replaced ahead of a party meeting scheduled for March 5, in view of inner party elections set for May. They added Boc would step down as prime minister to run for a new term as party president.

The head of state reportedly told party leaders an economy expert for prime minister would help restore the Government’s credibility and reassure international investors and asked them to convince MPs to back such a prime minister.
