Sources said the social democrat leader will give young social democrats cards entitling them to discounts in theaters, cinemas, stores and restaurants and the party will also organize beach parties on the Black Sea shore.
"There's a computerized system through which different partners - theaters, cinemas, stores, restaurants - offer discounts to PSD card owners. This is Ponta's innovation in politics. Nothing of this kind has ever been done," the sources said.
The sources said the party has prepared 3,000 discount cards to be offered to new party members both in Bucharest and local organizations across the country.
The social democratic party has seen a wave of resignations among its lawmakers after the party lost the presidential election and changed leaders.
