According to Corlatea, the motion was signed by social democrat, liberal and conservative MPs.

The opposition senator said Monday the motion is directed against Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Baconschi for his recent statements regarding the bill on postal voting and the votes the ruling Democratic Liberal Party will get after the bill takes effect.

The motion also touches on issues regarding Romania’s failure to join the Schengen Area in March this year.

Senate Chairman Mircea Geoana said the opposition’s simple motion will be debated Monday, May 23.
