Romanian Social Democrats Want Homeowners To No Longer Pay 20% Of Thermal Upgrade Costs

The social democrats made public this decision following new debates within the party’s department of infrastructure and regional development targeting urbanism and the need for coherent regulations in this respect.

Nastase pointed out that this program is complementary and can be carried out in association with the National Housing Agency (ANL). Thus, the projects targeting mansard-roofed works can result in agreements that could eliminate the 20% amount homeowners’ associations must pay.

In turn, Sorin Bota, head of the party’s infrastructure department, said the social democrats are looking for ways to establish a public-private partnership with the constructor supposed to execute thermal refurbishment and mansard-roofed works for buildings, so that homeowners’ associations no longer pay the 20% quota.

Furthermore, Bota said they also want the 30% quota paid by mayoralties to be halved if not reduced to 40% of what should be paid currently.
