Thirteen Romanian Counties Affected By Tuesday Night Storm

Forty localities in 13 Romanian counties have been affected by the storm Tuesday night, with the most damage in the counties of Neamt, Valcea and Braila.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, some 130 farms and 15 houses have been flooded and around 300 trees have been knocked down by the storm. Six national roads were partially blocked for a short while by fallen trees. Some 25 other county roads were affected by flooding or fallen trees.

In Braila County, hale struck 500 houses, destroying roof tiles and smashing windows, and ravaging 200 hectares of land.

In Piatra Neamt, capital of Neamt county, one person was carried away by the flood and suffered minor injuries. Also, 17 bridges were affected and one railway track was blocked for several hours by fallen logs.
