Blaga said he cannot force mayors to sell ANL houses, built for young people, considering that mayoralties provided the lands on which ANL houses were built and also paid for electricity, gas and water connection systems. Blaga, however, urged mayors to sell ANL houses so that money can get to the state budget and then return to local authorities.
According to the minister, if mayoralties were willing to sell ANL houses, then, new construction works would set off.
Blaga said Wednesday the ministry allocated nearly EUR170 million this year to build houses via ANL, namely, social residences and houses for evacuated tenants.
He also said the ministry will build 6,000 houses in 2009, of which, over 3,200 via ANL, and an additional 10,000 houses in 2010.
