Hydrologists Extend Flood Alert For Prut River, E Romania, Until End-July

Romanian hydrologists extended the flood alert on the Prut river, eastern Romania, until the end of July, as dam-held waters must be released and the river’s level will further increase.

The code red flood alert will be maintained until Tuesday for the Prisacani-Danube sector and for the Prut’s sector crossing Vaslui county and until July 31 for the Falciu-Danube sector.

The orange and yellow flood alert for the Prut’s sectors crossing the eastern and the northeastern part of the country was also extended until end-July.

Hydrologists extended on Sunday the code yellow flood advisory for Tulcea hydrometric station until July 21 and for Isaccea hydrometric station until July 26.
