"[Tourism minister] Elena Udrea met today with Nadia Comaneci at the government’s headquarters and proposed that she represent Romanian tourism internationally. Nadia accepted the offer,” ministry communication manager Stefan Lungu said.
He added there was no discussion of the fee the former world gymnastics champion would get from this collaboration.
"We also want to propose the same thing to Ilie Nastase and Gheorghe Hagi. We want to have a promotion campaign with the three of them. They would appear in the advertisements promoting Romanian tourism in the country and around the world,” the ministry official also said.
According to Lungu, Romanian tourism will have a new TV spot as of May 1, to be broadcasted on international markets.
"At the beginning of April we’ll start an auction for a new video clip. We want it to be ready by May 1," Lungu said.
