Boc had a meeting with businesspeople in Bistrita-Nasaud, northern Romania, who complained about the delayed answers they get from banks concerning the loans they had requested.
“We need to have a discussion with banks and a deadline needs to be set for answering the loan requests filed by companies. Companies should be told if their request is approved, rejected or if they have to bring additional documents, and this needs to be done within a clear time-frame. It is unacceptable to allow banks treat the private sector the way they please,” Boc said.
The prime minister said he has nothing against banks, but thinks their clerks should act responsibly.
“(…) Waiting seven months to see whether the bank will grant the loan or not seems to me unacceptable,” Boc concluded.
