FIFA President Sees Romania Among Potential Euro-2008 Semi-finalists

FIFA president Joseph Blatter said Thursday in an interview for the UEFA official website that Romania, France, the Netherlands and Italy are semi-potential finalists for Euro-2008.

"There have often been surprise winners at European Championships. In 1992 Denmark were called at the last moment to replace another team and won it. We’ll see great football. It’s just a pity that potential semi-finalists Romania, the Netherlands, France and Italy have all been drawn in Group C," Blatter said.

Romania was drawn in Group C at the final round of the European Championship in Austria and Switzerland, along France, Italy and the Netherlands.
