Romanian Chamber Tacitly OKs Ordinance On Communist Police Archive Study Organization
The ordinance was approved in its initial form, without amendments brought by the committee for legal matters, as the number of votes in the plenary session was insufficient and the adoption deadline expired.
The Chamber of Deputies was the first notified, and the Senate has the final say.
The Romanian government approved in March an emergency ordinance allowing CNSAS to continue its activity, after the Constitutional Court deemed unconstitutional the law regulating the organization.
