Nearly 62.1% of the building permits issued in November were for residential projects in rural areas, mirroring the same trend from the past months.
The number of issued building permits fell in all areas on the month in November, most of them in the southern-Muntenia region, the country’s southeastern area, the northwestern area, and the Bucharest-Ilfov area. Hence, the central area accounted for a 27-unit increase in the number of building permits.
Compared with November 2008, the biggest decreases were registered in the Bucharest-Ilfov area, the southeastern area, the southern-Muntenia region and the southwestern Oltenia region.
Romania issued 45,324 buildings permits for residential projects in the first eleven months, down 20.8% on the year, INS also said.
