Teodorovici, who criticized the ANAF chief multiple times in the past, said that the agency needs to “radically change its behavior” within the economy.
“2019 is a year with a lot of challenges economy-wise, and ANAF as maybe a main public institution in Romania must radically change its behavior in the economy. First of all it should change its mentality, prove that it has a fair, honest behavior towards legal entities,” said the minister.
“It also needs a better collection rate in the VAT area and not only there, but there are also a lot of sums which can be brought into the state budget through more efficient ANAF verification,” he said.
The minister also added that he proposed a replacement for Misa, without specifying who. His proposal was later revealed to be economist Mihaela Triculescu.
