Finnish Soprano Tarja Turunen To Play Bucharest On June 22
Tickets go on sale Monday, for prices ranging from RON70 to RON150, and will be available online at
www.ticketpoint and
www.myticket.ro, and in the Diverta chain store.
Tarja managed to bring together two seemingly opposite worlds - rock music and opera - and songs like "Nemo" and "I Walk Alone" climbed international charts.
Born in Kitee, Finland in 1977, Tarja began to study music at the age of six and became internationally famous as the founding member and vocalist of Finnish band Nighwish, from where she was dismissed in 2005, after nine years.
Tarja is currently enjoying a successful solo career and her 2007 album "My Winter Storm" went platinum in Finland and gold in Russia, Germany and Sweden. Her debut song, "I Walk Alone", inspired by Mozart’s Requiem, was highly acclaimed and received favorable reviews from music critics as well as fans.
She had two spectacular concerts with Nightwish in previous years in Bucharest and a sold-out solo concert in Sibiu, central Romania.
